Travolution Awards 2024: Start-up of the Year among other shortlists announced
The final shortlists yet to be revealed for this year’s 34 Travolution Awards categories have now been announced.
The dozens of entries submitted have been shaved down to find this year's shortlist for the Start-up of the Year award, sponsored by payments specialist WEX.
Emily Whalley, WEX’s EMEA sales manager for international corporate payments, said: “WEX is thrilled to support the Travolution Start-up of the Year category because we believe that innovation is the driving force behind the future of the travel industry.
"By recognising and celebrating some of the most promising startups, we’re encouraging fresh ideas and creative solutions and reinforcing our commitment creating growth and transformation in this dynamic sector.
"Supporting emerging businesses aligns with our vision to empower the next generation of travel companies, and we are excited to be part of their journey towards success,” she said.
Other special awards including Rising Star of the Year, sponsored by Gail Kenny Executive Recruitment and Champions of Sustainability have also been published.
Travolution's annual celebration of achievement is one of the largest in the travel technology and digital sector in the UK, with more than 450 attending last year's affair.
The shortlisted companies will have to wait until Thursday, November 28 to find out if they will pick up the trophy on the night.
The ceremony is moving to a new location again this year, to keep up with the demand in numbers. It will take place at City Central, HAC, in London.
Mastercard, as the returning Headline Sponsor, had already announced the shortlist for its well-established award category - The Mastercard B2B Payments award.
The Mastercard B2B Payment award will be handed out to the company considered to have done the most for payment innovation, including a strategy, product or solution less than two years old.
Other sponsor categories have also already been announced with the consumer-voted awards, sponsored by icelolly.com and TravelSupermarket parent, Ice Travel Group.
The awards are sponsored by HolidayPirates Group, HolidayTaxis Group, HotelRunner, and Trip.com, too.
Kate Harden-England, Editor of Travolution, said: “This year, we've seen a great mix of new companies submitting for these awards which is both refreshing and inspirational to see.
"Well done to all of those shortlisted, especially those in the Start-up of the Year and Rising Star of the year categories, who face another stage still of live pitching or interviewing."
