The next Travolution Digital Lunchbox will provide insight into how technology is powering a revival of the call centre in travel.
With firms like Teletext Holidays stating publically it’s preference for selling over the phone, the half day event will hear from industry and technology experts.
Travolution has teamed up with NewVoiceMedia, a provider of a leading cloud-based contact centre platform, for the Lunchbox hosted by Ve Interactive at VeLOFT, 4 Hardwick St, London, EC1R 4RB.
Speakers will include Alex Mead, chief customer officer at Golfbreaks.com, and Sam Cassem who established YourTravel having left Dialaflight – a leading exponent in the UK travel sector of selling over the phone.
As well as hearing from NewVoiceMedia, the event will see Zolv’s Full Picture multi-media call centre platform in action and hear how Celebrity Cruises has deployed it.
Lee Hayhurst, Travolution editor, said: “Selling over the phone might seem old hat, but actually technology is enabling travel firms to place this strategy at the heart of their approach.
“With the customer empowered like never before, it’s vital that the call centre operative is armed with as much product information and advice as possible and supplied with data to ensure they are prepared deal with the next call they pick up.
“In an age of remote selling, being able to forge a direct relationship with the customer to encourage loyalty and exploit cross- and up-sell opportunities is becoming a must for all travel firms as they seek to maximise margins.
“The latest technologies are helping contact or call centres to be seen as revenue-raising channels, vital to businesses’ bottom lines, rather than costs centres at risk of being cut back when budgets are stretched.”
