Turkey’s Pegasus Airlines rolls out AI flight announcements

Project developed by the Pegagus Innovation Lab

Turkey-based Pegasus Airlines has introduced multilingual AI-generated announcements in the respective local language on flights to Spanish, Arabic, and Russian-speaking countries.

The feature, which is being rolled out this month, was initially trialled on the Seville, Spain route on 24 September. During that flight, guests were greeted in Spanish before being provided with information about the service.

The Pegasus Innovation Lab, established last year in Silicon Valley to spearhead new technologies and innovations in the aviation sector, developed the project.

The system clones the voices of male and female Pegasus captains to create multilingual announcements tailored to each flight.

The announcements share details including flight information, weather, destination, the captain's name, and flight duration, all updated via AI before take-off.
