Cheapflights parent Momondo Group chief executive Hugo Burge was honoured with the Travolution achievement award last night as the digit travel brand marked its 10 year anniversary at its annual awards in London.

Burge joined the likes of lastminute.com founder Brent Hoberman, easyJet founder Stelios Haji-Ioannou, Kayak’s Steve Hafner and last year’s recipient Rentalcars founder Greg Wills in receiving the honour.

More than 400 guests gathered at The Ballroom on London’s South Bank for the ceremony at which Expedia, which celebrating its 20th birthday this year was named brand of the year.

Rising brand of the year went to German deals site Holiday Pirates and the start-up of the year was named as Fastpayhotels, the new hotel room supplier established by former Travolution Rising Star Alex Gisbert.

This year’s Rising Star accolade went to Emilie Mouquot, who beat four other hopefuls in live interviews with a judging panel.
