FDS expands customer offer with launch of hotel stay packages

Travellers can benefit from exclusive discounts via the ferry operator

Ferry operator DFDS has moved into the hotel stay market through a partnership with WebBeds.com.

The partnership means that travellers can now book their ferry crossing and hotel accommodation together, via the ferry company’s website.

The hotel stay packages provide travellers with access to properties across Northern France, Belgium, Holland and Germany, with exclusive discounts available for booking with DFDS.

The hotel stay packages are designed to appeal to travellers considering a weekend city break and combine with the ferry operators short break offers to provide a value for money travel option for customers.

It will offer travellers the flexibility to take their car, carry as much luggage as they like, and explore some of Europe’s cities.

Sample prices for a one-night city break in the beautiful and historic Belgian city of Bruges start from £99 per person including three-star hotel accommodation and ferry travel with a standard car on DFDS’ Dover to Calais route.

Philippa Broadfield, head of campaigns at DFDS, said: "Research shows that people booking holidays abroad are increasingly turning to package holidays to get the best deals.

"We’re transporting three million passengers a year on our ferry routes from the UK and these passengers all need to stay somewhere in their destination, so why not offer a more rounded package with the opportunity to book your ferry and hotel all in one place?

"Combining a more inclusive booking option with our recommended itineraries and destination travel guides, allows us to be a one-stop-shop for customers so that they enjoy more flexibility, convenience and the peace of mind of knowing all elements of their trip are fully protected by ABTOT."

She added: "By offering these packages we can leverage our existing partnerships with hotel providers. We were already working with a range of fantastic partners across Northern Europe, from luxury hotels to budget-friendly options, and we have exciting plans to expand our range and build on the popularity of inclusive travel offers over the coming months
