This is the business' second Dutch acquisition in the past year
Holiday Extras reveals acquisition of Dutch firm Quick Parking
Ancillaries provider Holiday Extras has acquired 100% of Amsterdam-based Quick Parking, as its second major investment in The Netherlands.
The deal sees Holiday Extras take over the brands, website, distribution partnerships, supply arrangements and technology platform, together with the long term leases and operations of Quick Parking’s four airport parking facilities serving passengers for Amsterdam’s Schiphol, Brussels International, Rotterdam The Hague and Eindhoven.
This new supply, together with a far wider international parking supply network and the group’s well-established German business, will "significantly" strengthen Holiday Extras’ European footprint.
In total the four Quick Parking sites add a further 6,200 spaces to Holiday Extras’ own airport parking portfolio in Europe.
The news follows the firm's recent takeover of the multistory car park in Munich, earlier this year, in February, and the strategic investment in the Dutch-based Transferz ground transportation business late last year.
Holiday Extras plans to keep the Schiphol headquarters and the Quick Parking team in place and will expand the team as they invest in a new growth plan.
Founder and CEO of Quick Parking, Albert Weerman, will stay on as an adviser to Holiday Extras Group on their expansion plans throughout Europe.
The investment will include further upgrades in each of the parking sites, including security and facilities improvements and installation of the latest self-service technology via Holiday Extras’ own ParkIT business.
It will add the group’s approach to improved booking flexibility with its Flextras promise, the AI-powered app.
Weerman said: “Holiday Extras’ commitment to customer service, sustainable development and better technology makes them the perfect buyer for our business and new home for our team.
"We’re all excited to join the Holiday Extras Group and happy that the business my wife Margot and I founded and built here will be in safe hands.”
Simon Hagger, deputy CEO of Holiday Extras, said: “The acquisition of Quick Parking ticks so many boxes for our Group.
"Further expansion of our own parking operations in Europe, much more supply in new territories and through application of our team and tech capability we see this bold move as a significant accelerator of our European growth plans.
"We can’t wait to work with the Quick Parking team and welcome them to the Holiday Extras family!”
Matthew Pack, CEO of Holiday Extras Group, added: “I'm delighted with the Quick Parking acquisition!
"A massive cheers to Albert and Margot the founders - clever entrepreneurs, who have built a fantastic business," he said.
"We’re proud to add Quick Parking to the Holiday Extras Group and are set to turbo-charge the operation with our 'less hassle, more holiday' expertise.”
