Wizz Air expands passenger payment options

Mobile solutions, including Apple Pay and Google Pay, now available

Low-cost carrier Wizz Air has introduced Apple Pay and Google Pay on its mobile application, offering passengers additional payment options.

The new digital payment methods are available on the official Wizz Air app on iOS and Android devices, providing travellers with a secure checkout process for the purchase of tickets and additional services.

Customers can pay up to 10 days prior to their preferred departure, with the initiative following from Wizz Air’s recent acceptance of Revolut cards onboard.

Unveiling the payment options, the airline said more than 30% of travellers purchase additional services and products after the initial booking stage, with nearly half doing so via its app.

Head of e-Commerce Remus Moraru said: "We are excited to enhance our payment options. This addition not only simplifies the booking process for our passengers, but also underscores our commitment to providing innovative and convenient solutions that meet the needs of modern travellers.”
