Deal was internally sponsored by Juniper's other brand Peakwork
Juniper Group acquires airline retailing firm InteRES
Juniper Group, an operating group of Vela Software and Constellation Software, has revealed it has acquisitred InteRES GmbH, a leading connectivity and digital retailing specialist in the airline industry.
The deal sees InteRES's ownership change from TUI Deutschland GmbH, and the founder of InteRES and current owner, Volker Herrmann, who have sold its minority stake in shares to Juniper Group.
Peakwork, who joined Juniper Group back in April 2023, internally sponsored this transaction for Peakwork and the rest of Juniper Group’s travel businesses to materially increase their expert power in complex connectivity and digital retailing solutions, as well as to strengthen their offering to their long-standing partners in the airline industry.
Under the new ownership, InteRES will maintain its independent brand and positioning in the market, but will have a close cooperation with Peakwork and the rest of Juniper Group’s peers in its core markets.
“We are delighted to welcome InteRES to our network of travel software companies," said Jaime Sastre, CEO of Juniper Group and founder of Juniper Travel Technology.
"InteRES’ talented and experienced employees bring in a unique skill set in the airline industry, while we are also excited about being able to offer its customers, partners, and employees exclusive access to our leading end-to-end travel software network globally from now on."
Manuel Saballus, CEO of Peakwork, said: “Working very closely with the team at InteRES will make all mutual and new clients benefit from potential synergies and open new opportunities for both sides.
"We have known InteRES for a long time, and we are amazed that the experienced leadership and team will join the family of Juniper Group and Peakwork”.
Volker Hermann, CEO and founder of InteRES, added: “We are proud to have found Juniper Group to become our long-term partner who will allow us to significantly accelerate our future growth and ensure a forever home for our customers and employees.
"Joining Peakwork and Juniper Group allows us to find synergies with other international travel tech companies, enhancing our capabilities and B2B distribution on a global scale.
"We look forward to the upcoming collaborations with Juniper Group’s other companies to boost our business and add incremental value to our products and services”.
Munich-based M&A advisory firm, Ennea Capital Partners, supported Herrmann Holding on the transaction.
