The technologies that will be vital in supporting travel’s emergence from the COVID-19 pandemic were highlighted at Arabian Travel Market last week.

The annual event, which took place in Dubai, saw Travolution host the opening session on the Travel Forward travel technology stage.

The hybrid session, featuring remote speakers from London, Spain and Hong Kong and participants live on stage.

The session kicked off with a pre-recorded presentation from Skyscanner commercial director Gavin Harris, who set out the emerging consumer trends the metasearch site has seen and how it has brought in technology to meet the demands of its users.

The following panel included Melanie Bryant, regional director, consulting, onboarding and optimisation, Travelport, Alex Villeyra, chief operating officer at Mabrian, David Klippenstein, government services, Mastercard Government Data and Service, and Tony Smith, senior vice president corporate development and communications at iFree Group.

The session was jointly hosted in Dubai and the UK by Daniela Wagner, Jacobs Group business development director and Lee Hayhurst, Travolution executive editor.
