RIU Hotels & Resorts reveals success of collab with Joyned

Conversions into RIU website through Joyned saw an 11% uptick in revenue

Spanish hotel-chain RIU Hotels & Resorts has shared the results of its partnership with social revenue platform Joyned, one year in.

Aimed at creating a superior user experience for RIU’s customers across the US and increasing conversions as well as revenue, the partnership launched in June 2023 and has delivered "significant" business results to date.

Through Joyned’s technology, users can invite friends and family to discuss and make plans directly on the RIU's website in a secure, private online space.

The duo's work has resulted, in a 4.8 times increase in conversion rate, a 5.3 times boost in ARPU, and a 16% growth in average deal value.

While some users utilised Joyned as a centralised tool for planning their solo trips, others invited friends and family to discuss and book their next trip, overall contributing to an 11% increase in revenue.

Juan Campins Crespi, director of digital channels of RIU Hotels & Resorts, was initially looking for solutions to enhance user experience so that travellers could collaboratively plan their vacation while maintaining their privacy.

He said: “Joyned provides users with instant value by allowing them to discuss plans, get validation, and make a group decision straight from our website.

"The platform demonstrated a major positive impact, leading to business outcomes that we are extremely pleased with,” he said.

Michael Levinson, CEO of Joyned, said: “As we’re committed to becoming the world’s leading platform for group purchases in the travel sector and beyond, the results of this partnership are a testament to the potential of our social revenue technology.

“I have full confidence in our continued success together with RIU Hotels & Resorts," he concluded.
