European STR specialist firm Goliday launches in the UK

The start-up hopes to challenge short-term rental giants Airbnb and Booking.com

Holiday and short-term rental solutions firm Goliday is now live in the UK.

The Austro-French start-up, founded in 2020, enables holiday rental owners to create their own website with an integrated booking system in minutes.

No technical experience is needed because of the user interface optimised for the target group.

Challenging competitors such as giants such as Airbnb, Lodgify, Wix, and Booking.com as a platform for owners to advertise on, the firm want people to be "more independent" from commissioned-based platforms.

Owners can build their own website which is ready to receive bookings and payments. That additional marketing channel allows them to get commission-free bookings and to promote their own brand.

The firm that has already generated €9 million in booking volume for its clients across 5,500 websites, even has a free version too, which includes a website with booking system without commissions for one rental property.

At the end of 2024, it was announced that it had become an official vacation rental partner of Google allowing for additional direct bookings via its interface with Google Maps.

Backed by a six-figure funding from the European Union, Goliday has successfully completed a pre-seed round and is now in a seed investment round advised by Gerald Kollitsch, head of business development of Vienna based, i5invest

It's hopes to launch the Goliday B2C platform this year, which will be a holiday rental marketplace - like Airbnb is - with the 12,000 plus rental properties it has as clients.

It also has plans to branch out into additional markets in Europe like Italy, Spain, Croatia, as well as the US, in the future.
