Orascom Hotels Management Makes Four New Senior Appointments Amid Growth Strategy Refresh

OHM aims to boost commercial capabilities, create future value and innovation, drive acute profit focus, and make OHM a more desirable place to work

Orascom Hotels Management, one of the biggest hotel owners and operators in the MENA region, has announced four new appointments.

The hires form part of its continued growth strategy, which began with the appointment of Stuart Leven as CEO in September 2023.

The hospitality operator has named Sanjay Sharma as chief technology officer, Paula Frey as chief revenue officer, Shafayat Miah as chief e-Commerce officer, and Renee Wagner as director of ESG & quality management.

Sharma has been recognised as one of the top 10 CIOs in the Middle East, by Business Transformation's 150 in Silicon Valley.

He will be responsible for driving digital transformation and change within the Group.

His previous experience includes positions at Jumeirah Group and Emirates Airlines.

Frey will be responsible for overseeing the continued success of all revenue-generating activities within the company.

Frey rose quickly through the ranks at Mandarin Oriental Group, driving revenue strategies and propelling growth across its portfolio of properties.

She joins from Corinthia Hotels Limited where she was group director of hotel revenue and oversaw a portfolio of 16 hotels revenue growth.

While Miah brings with him more than two decades of experience in digital marketing, technology and innovation from a number of renowned global organisations, including Accenture, Jumeirah Group, flyadeal and Dubai World.

He joins from Meta, where he led high impact global programmes and marketing strategy.

Miah is tasked with transforming the technology used across Orascom’s portfolio, delivering key commercial systems such as a modernised CRM, marketing automation and eCommerce platforms across all of its properties in Egypt, Switzerland, Montenegro, Oman and the UAE.

Wagner is tasked with leading the improvement of ESG and quality management across the OHM portfolio, including the promotion of social responsibility and community engagement through a series of impactful programmes, developing training programmes to educate employees on ESG principles and practices and implementing a quality assurance process in line with Orascom’s brand mission.

Stuart Leven, CEO of Orascom Hotels Management, said: “These four additions to our leadership team bring more than 60-years of experience combined from all over the globe.

"These leaders in their respective fields will allow Orascom Hotels Management to utilise their sector knowledge to elevate the guest experience and raise the standard for hospitality and service across our portfolio.

"These hires will allow OHM to reach the next stage of development by boosting commercial capabilities, creating future value and innovation, driving acute profit focus, and making OHM a more desirable place to work.”
