Amadeus ushers in Carol Borg as new CFO

She will also join the company's Executive Committee

Global GDS and travel technology firm, Amadeus, has appointed Carol Borg as its new chief financial officer.

Effective from May 5, Borg joins from QinetiQ Group PLC, a FTSE250 multi-country defense and security company based in the UK, where she developed her professional career as group CFO. 

She was responsible for all finance and governance activities and oversaw consistent and profitable revenue growth supported by acquisitions. 

Prior to that, she was the chief financial officer at Lightsource bp Renewal Energy in the UK, a player in large scale solar projects and smart energy solutions. 

Here, Borg oversaw the maturation and transformation of the company’s finance and governance processes and capabilities which recently resulted in bp fully acquiring the organisation.

She brings a wealth of international experience as a group CFO, with an 30-year track record of driving transformational change in some of the most innovative technology-led organizations in the world.

The finance exec has held senior finance roles in a variety of sectors throughout her extensive career, including energy, renewables, and defense. Borg also holds a non-executive board director and Audit Committee chair position in UK-listed company, Ricardo PLC.

Borg will be based in Madrid, reporting into Amadeus president and CEO, Luis Maroto. She will also take a position on the company’s Executive Committee.
