Multi-day tours start-up TourAmigo wins TravelTech Show’s Trailblazer award

Annual travel technology exhibition will take place virtually next week on September 14-15

The TravelTech Show has named the first winner of its start-up competition ahead of the annual trade show which will take place virtually next week.

An expert panel of judges chose multi-day tours specialist TourAmigo as its Trailblazer, while second and third places went to Cruisewatch and Grapevine.

All three will be invited to speak in a start-up panel with Pete Comeau from Phocuswright on day two of the show.

As the Trailblazer winner award, TourAmigo will receive a free stand at TravelTech Show 2022 and a Phocuswright Conference start-up ticket.

TourAmigo is a B2B travel tech company that specialises in distribution and software for multi-day tour operators.

It provides booking and reservation software for multi-day tour operators and a plug-and-play booking journey for selling partners to feature and sell tours globally.

The TravelTech Show’s Stevie Rackley said: “TourAmigo scored extremely highly with all judges. Multi-day tour operators are an underserved segment, and TourAmigo will disrupt the industry with their innovative solution.

“They scored particularly high for the quality of their presentation, and the potential to create breakthrough value in the travel industry.”

Murray Decker chief executive of TourAmigo, added “Considering the incredibly high standard of competition, being named the winner of TravelTech Show’s Trailblazer Award is a huge honour.

“This award will go a long way to support Tour Amigo’s mission to become the global market leader in tour travel technology. Expanding into Europe and the US is a vital step on our journey to achieving this mission.

“The recognition, networking opportunities, and product validation gained from the Trailblazer Award will not only open up new opportunities, but it will be an invaluable aid during this overseas expansion.

“The multi-day tour segment is the last tourism vertical to be digitalised, with over 95% of multi-day tours operators lacking booking and reservation software and online/live distribution. This highly fragmented USD$155billion dollar travel segment is one of the most significant emerging opportunities in the travel industry.”

TourAmigo is the first of three winners that are due to be announced with a further two winners of the innovation pitches being chosen by TravelTech Show attendees. Attendees will be able to vote via Swapcard after they have registered for the show.
