Digital travel insurance company battleface has joined UK trade association Insurtech UK, which represents insurance technology companies.
The brand has rise to prominence during the COVID-19 pandemic for its approach to offering policies that are regularly updated to respond to changing demands.
Insurtech UK is a trade association for technologically focused insurance company start-ups in the UK.
It is the largest formal insurtech alliance in the world, with a membership base of over 100 businesses and several partners both from the traditional insurance sector and industries which serve the market.
Hugh King, battleface director of business development for the UK and Europe said: “We are delighted to be part of the Insurtech UK community as it aligns completely with our own objectives.
“Innovation and tech are key to our success so far, and has enabled us to provide flexible, customer-focused solutions, which in the current, ever-changing travel-landscape is critical to enable us to build a sustainable future.
“We utilise API and iFrame technologies to deploy our solutions, ‘unbundling’ the traditional travel insurance product to custom build modular solutions from the ‘ground up’ aligning to the consumer base of our partners.
“We share Insurtech UK’s mission with making the UK a major hub for insurance innovation with our solutions available globally, providing capacity and availability of our services to incumbent insurers, insurance intermediaries, travel and hospitality providers.
“As well as working with key partners to support their brand and proposition with white labelled solutions, battleface has created a retail product that enables the consumer to purchase a policy in less than two minutes, eliminating bulky legacy processes that have been in place since the 90s.”
James York, co-chair of Insurtech UK, added: “We’re so pleased to welcome Battleface to Insurtech UK – another brand pushing innovation. I am sure they will be a valuable member of our growing, and increasingly influential sector.”
