Former Insight Vacations boss John Boulding joins Vox to spearhead POPGuide global push
Rome-based mapping app and audio-guide specialist Vox Group has recruited former chief executive of Insight Vacations to head up a major global expansion.
John Boulding (pictured middle) has been brought in as chief marketing officer to spearhead effort to raise the profile of its POPGuide technology across the globe.
POPGuide is a white-label solution that can be customised by clients to build customer retention and earnings.
Vox Group claims it allows forms to provide value-added services cost effectively and benefit from the rich data it collects on guest activities.
The technology allows push notifications and promotion of special offers, itinerary mapping, hosting of vacation documentation and customisation of points of interest and home locations.
Elio Epifani, Vox Group president, said: “We are excited by the appointment. John and his marketing team are creating a world-wide sales force to distribute POPGuide through tour operators, attractions, hotels, travel agencies, MICE and institutions.
“John is a passionate leader and an expert in innovation and branding who brings 40 years’ global experience and connections as a senior travel industry executive to our group.”
Boulding said: “In a world where travel apps are omnipresent, POPGuide stands out as by far the simplest and best solution for travel providers.
“It is a fantastic tool and is backed by Vox, one of the biggest names in the business, with over 50 offices around the world.
“We are reaching out to tour operators, travel agents, hotels, museums and venues to show how POPGuide can transform the way they can communicate with their customers.
“Moreover, travellers will always feel at ease in a foreign city; they’ll never miss the best experiences; and they’ll enjoy first-hand knowledge translated and related in text or audio by local experts.”
