Opodo hires anti-fraud firm
Spanish-owned online travel provider Opodo has hired Retail Decisions, a payment card issuer and card fraud prevention specialist, to provide fraud prevention services for the site’s UK, German, French and Italian websites.
Retail Decisions will also process German Direct Debit (ELV) transactions from the German Opodo website.
“We are confident that Retail Decisions’ fully integrated fraud prevention service will assist our anti fraud team in spotting fraud much earlier in the transaction lifecycle, while maximizing our optimal good sales potential,” said Opodo boss Ignacio Martos.
Retail Decisions blue chip travel-related clients include Travelocity, Hotwire, Thomas Cook, Harvey World Travel and Travelex.
The news follows a recent Office of Fair Trading report which found that shoppers have significant fears about security and privacy, which put some off buying online altogether.
