New travel 2.0 site VibeAgent, is staking its claim in the ever-growing social media space, by combining user reviews, meta-search, and social networking in one place.

The site’s co-founder and CEO Adam Healey ¬ says industry insiders dub VibeAgent, TripAdvisor 2.0, and “TripAdvisor meets Kayak meets Facebook”.

VibeAgent, whose stated aim is “to help people find the perfect hotel at the perfect price”, has secured a round of private financing and appointed Trip Davis, president and CEO of TRX, to its Board of Directors.

VibeAgent site members can share hotel reviews and recommendations across their social network of friends, colleagues, and groups.  The reviews and social connections on the site in turn drive VibeAgent’s proprietary social search algorithm, which serves up personalized hotel recommendations in the order they are likely to appeal to the user.

VibeAgent¹s meta-search engine gathers rates and availability for more than 100,000 hotels, including hotel and travel web sites, such as Priceline, InterContinental Hotel Group, Reserve Travel, Booking.com, and Venere.

VibeAgent.com is currently in private beta test and accessible by invitation only.
