James Villa Holidays has appointed a firm to manage its social media strategy and execution following a competitive pitch.

Digital media agency 7thingsmedia was selected based on its understanding of the brief and range of creative travel specific social media ideas presented to the operator.

The firm will be tasked with setting the strategy for ‘social-first’ content. It will be responsible for bringing the existing James Villa Holidays brand experience to life through social media channels, specifically via branded content, imagery and editorial publishing.

The agency has been managing James Villa Holidays’ affiliate activity since 2012, including achieving the highest monthly revenue figures in its nine-year history last January.

Sally Pemble, digital acquisition manager, said: “We saw a number of leading digital agencies before ultimately deciding to appoint 7thingsmedia who were clear winners.

“We were thoroughly impressed with their creative ideas to lead social-first content for James Villa Holidays. Plus, having a strong existing relationship with 7thingsmedia, therefore first-hand experience of their all-round digital knowledge, made it a simple decision to select them.”

The media company’s founder and chief executive, Chris Bishop, added: “The team and I are thrilled to further cement our relationship with James Villa Holidays by adding social media to our existing campaign activity. Working together, we are going to have a lot of fun executing the social media strategy presented during the pitch.”
