Sabre is to provide technology solutions to enable Alaska Airlines’ retailing strategy in all sales channels, including through some of the carrier’s interline partner airlines.

Sabre’s suite of solutions will give the airline the ability to offer customers ancillary products and optional services through travel agencies and some interline airline partners by the end of the year.

The interline ancillary capabilities will also enable interline partners to market and sell their ancillaries in Alaska Airlines’ sales channels.

Alaska Airlines also uses Sabre’s reservations system.

The carrier’s planning and revenue management senior vice president, Andrew Harrison, said: “Our top priority is to provide our customers with options so travellers can purchase the optional products and services they value most and Sabre has been an important partner in helping achieve this goal.”

Hugh Jones, president of Sabre Airline Solutions, said: “Sabre has been a long-time technology provider for Alaska Airlines, delivering capabilities to help power their growth.

“Alaska has led the industry by pioneering new and innovative technologies so we are thrilled to continue supporting their technology needs.”
