A new online training scheme for agents and operators has been instigated by Garuda International to educate them on the airline and Indonesia as a destination.

Online training programme provider Online Travel Training has designed a course in conjunction with the carrier aimed at building agents’ knowledge of Garuda.

More than 200 agents have registered online and completed the course since it was launched earlier this month.

Agents who complete the course by January 30 will be entered into a prize draw to win two economy class tickets from London to Jakarta.

The course is made up of four modules: Garuda Indonesia network, fleet and international service; first, business and economy class; airport and ground services and awards and accolades; and Skyteam and Garuda Miles. A minimum pass mark needs to be met in order for agents to receive a certificate of completion.

The airline’s UK General manager, Jubi Prasetyo, said: “The course has been specifically designed to ensure agents can easily understand Garuda’s brand values, what we represent, and why, as the national carrier of Indonesia, we are the ideal choice for holidaymakers and business travellers alike.

“The trade will receive and absorb all the key information to allow them to successfully sell Garuda as part of a travel package.”

Garuda will also publish updates and incentives via OTT’s e-shots and e-newsletters as part of its promotional campaign.
