Cruise.co.uk is investing in a portal that updates all cruise content from social media.

Online aggregator CruiseWall was only established in September but has attracted an unspecified investment from the online cruise retailer.

The business acts as an online hub that aggregates, curates and streams the best industry content from multiple social networks.

It claims to bring consumers the latest cruise news as it happens all in one place through a visually engaging medium.

With 150 feeds from various cruise lines, journalists, travel agents and rivals, Cruise.co.uk aims to use CruiseWall as an extension to its existing reviews, questions, photos, news and forum content.

Cruise.co.uk says it will ensure CruiseWall’s content is unfiltered, reinforcing its reputation as the consumer champion for cruisers.

It will share development with CruiseWall and provide investment and marketing support with the initial phase of integrating content into its own site over the coming weeks.

For now it can be accessed at http://www.cruisewall.co

Cruise.co.uk managing director, Seamus Conlon, said: “This is the first time anyone has tried to aggregate and create a searchable resource of all the social media content for a particular industry in one place.

“We saw the opportunity that CruiseWall had developed and that it fitted well with our strategy of being the largest cruise research site.

“We know that cruise enthusiasts have spent 575,000 hours researching cruises this year on cruise.co.uk alone, but they additionally spend time on social media looking at all the posts, tweets, news that the cruise lines, travel agents and journalists put on Facebook, Google Plus, You Tube, and Twitter.

“CruiseWall constantly updates itself with cruise content from all social media making it the most up-to-date source for cruise news.”
