TAP and Vayant team up to power Portuguese airline’s push in German market

Portuguese national airline TAP has started using Vayant Travel Technologies’ price caching system for distributing through tour operators as it seeks to strengthen its position in Germany.

Vayant’s said it pre-computed Pricing Cache will give TAP access to accurate flight search results across multiple destinations and origin airports for multiple travel dates.

Results are generated using Vayant’s pricing and shopping engine and are fully bookable via the tour operators’ preferred booking channel.

TAP Portugal’s tour operator partners will use the results for dynamic packaging of flights with related travel services such as cars or hotels.

Vayant updates the cache every few hours and TAP Portugal has the option to receive cache refreshes every hour.

Eric Dumas, chief executive of Vayant, said: “Distribution is one of the biggest challenges facing airlines.

“With Pricing Cache, we help airlines like TAP Portugal build stronger relationships with the indirect channel, opening new opportunities for revenue.”

Klemens Müller, marketing and sales manager of TAP Portugal in Germany and Austria, added:

“The new partnership with Vayant allows us to enhance our distribution in the tour operator segment with almost all relevant and strong operators for Portugal in the German market.

“We are looking forward to seeing even better results in the very near future.”
