Asia-based destination management company Diethelm Travel Group has selected UK firm Open Destinations as its technology provider.

The deal involves the licensing of the company’s flagship Travel Studio software which will be implemented into all DTG offices throughout the region.

The partnership marks expansion for Open Destinations into South East Asia.

The implementation of Travel Studio is now underway, with the development of a business model that will be first used in the Thailand office of Diethelm, then replicated among all other offices in its network.

Completion of the project will result in an additional 400 users of Travel Studio, which currently hosts more than 10,000 users a day.

DTG chief operating officer Maarten Groeneveld said: “Technology expansion is the pillar of our growth strategy.

“We looked for a system that not only has the flexibility to fit with our current organisation, but also the capacity to grow with us in the future.

“Our partnership with Open Destinations will increase our efficiency and ensure that we keep up with the newest functionality that is required by our clients and users.”

The decision involved consideration of more than just the software, he added.

“When going through this process, we decided that we needed a high level of expertise in travel technology to help us grow our business.”

Open Destinations CEO Kevin O’Sullivan said: ‘Working with a large organisation such as Diethelm is a great validation of our products and proves that our business model works in many different countries.”
