A multi-channel payments solution has been chosen by P&O Ferries to offer travellers easier and more secure payments on board, online and via its call centres.

Payments specialist Logic Group is supplying the Solve Centurion system to help the ferry company respond to changing customer needs and emerging payment technologies such as PayPal.

P&O Ferries chief information officer Chris Cook said: “To maintain a leadership position in the dynamic travel and transport services industry, customer service and enablement must be at the heart of the business.

“Forward-thinking and innovative use of technology is vital to help deliver timely and trusted services to customers.

“Having committed to offering our customers more ways to pay, P&O Ferries wanted to make sure that this improved service, would also be simpler and more secure while also meeting some very unique challenges.

“The Logic Group’s Solve Centurion solution as a managed service was a compelling offer that offered a single platform for our entire business – both at sea, on shore and on the web.”

Logic Group vice-president Ben Gale added: “The solution will enable them to open up a number of new and emerging customer touch points with a simple, integrated and cost-effective approach.

“Moreover, it’s encouraging to share a vision of the multi-channel environment that provides P&O with powerful transactional and operational data. In turn, this data can lead to further insights, for improving customer acquisition and retention strategies.”
