Pathway GDS has agreed a deal with travel agency consortium The Travel Network Group to distribute its villas and apartments through members.

The agreement will see an XML feed developed to integrate with TNG’s Honeycomb sales system which agents use to put together holiday packages protected by the UK Atol scheme.

TNG has over 800 members in the Worldchoice and Travel Trust Association consortia as well as ITE, a homeworking division.

Martin Andrew, group commercial director of TNG, said: “Bringing quality holiday rental product into The Travel Network Group is an exciting development for our members.

“Villas, apartments and rentals, are a fast growing part of the travel industry and this partnership will enable our members to sell more product to more customer segments.

“This partnership with Pathway GDS is a perfect example of how we are constantly looking at innovative ways we can add further value to our members – initiatives that will help them drive incremental revenues and thereby further build their businesses.”

Adam Walsh, Interhome’s commercial manager for the UK & Ireland, one of the Pathway GDS suppliers selected by The Travel Network Group, said:

“Developing significant partnerships with key distribution networks is important to Interhome.

“We know that the member agents of the TTA, Worldchoice and ITE are interacting daily with customers for whom a villa, cottage or chalet would be the ideal product.

“Interhome is therefore looking forward to working closely with this high quality network of agents and helping them grow their sales.”

Other suppliers available at launch will be Florida specialists Goodlife Florida Villas & Ocean Florida and Villa Select, and the global portfolio of RCI, the holiday rental arm of Wyndham Worldwide.

James Marchant, managing director of Pathway GDS, said: “Building good quality relationships between supplier and distributor partners is at the heart of what we do, and the connection of Pathway GDS into The Travel Network Group enables us to do just that.

“We now have a group of the holiday rental industry’s leading suppliers who are able to do business with the largest independent travel network in Europe. The scope for incremental bed nights through a network of this size is significant and we’re looking forward to helping all our partners increase their sales.”
