An expanded multi-year, global agreement has been clinched between Travelport and Carlson Wagonlit Travel.

The deal builds on a long-standing relationship and creates a long-term commercial framework “to lead and define the working partnership” between the two organisations through to the next decade.

The travel management company’s staff will continue to have access to Travelport’s travel content plus merchandising and desktop technology.

In return Travelport will benefit from new and incremental business from CWT in certain targeted countries in Europe and the Pacific region.

Travelport president and chief executive Gordon Wilson said: “This new agreement with CWT represents a strong, long term commitment to Travelport and expands the successful global partnership we have enjoyed now for many years – it clearly demonstrates how positively CWT view both our team and our Travel Commerce Platform offering.”

His CWT counterpart Doug Anderson added: “At CWT, we know that to provide best-in-class support to our clients and their travellers, we must balance the latest digital technology with outstanding customer service, today and in the future. Our new agreement with Travelport allows us to continue to do just that.”
