Spend management solutions provider Concur has announced Airbnb and taxi app Uber as the latest firms to sign up to use its business travel and expenses platform.

The two join a growing list of travel industry firms on the company’s books, including United, Marriott, IHG and Avis.

Concur claims integration will enable Airbnb to cater for the increasing number of business travellers seeking non-traditional accommodation, while Uber will be able to take advantage of the platform’s ability to expand customers’ visibility of their ground transportation costs.

Tim McDonald, executive vice-president at Concur, said: “This new generation of platform partners reflects the transformation taking place for today’s business customer.

“By partnering with these innovative companies, we are building a connected platform that radically improves the experience for the business traveller.

“With Airbnb and Uber, we are enabling, in business travel, what consumers already enjoy about collaborative consumption in their leisure. Capturing this spend then gives companies greater real-time transparency into traveller expenditure and itineraries.”
