Bright On Travel conference returns and this year it’s getting personal

This year’s Brighton Digital Festival will once again feature a key travel-themed event with the second annual Bright On Travel half-day conference.

This year’s Brighton Digital Festival will once again feature a key travel-themed event with the second annual Bright On Travel half-day conference.

The event on September 11, which will be followed by a night out in the seaside town for delegates and other guests, is run by Brighton-based travel tech agency CWTdigital in conjunction with Travolution.

The conference aims to promote the wealth of travel and technology know-how in Brighton and its surrounding region.

An impressive line-up of industry speakers has been put together to address the main theme of Bright On Travel 2014 personalisation and the move towards a more bespoke online experience in travel.

Dan Caplin, managing director of CWTdigital, said: “At Bright On Travel, our guest speakers will be talking us through some of the principals of personalisation.

“By listening to our specially-invited speakers you will not only gain a knowledge of how personalisation has affected their business but how you can increase your own online sales and engagement.”

Travolution editor Lee Hayhurst said: “I was delighted to be involved in the inaugural Bright On Travel last year.

“After starting out small, we promised it would grow and grow and after being encouraged by the response last year we’re looking to take a significant step forward for the 2014 event.

“So often the focus for these sorts of events is on London, so it’s fantastic to be able to get out of the capital and head to a part of the UK that has a vibrant technology and travel business scene.”

Speakers lined up include former Teletext Holidays boss Victoria Sanders, now head of travel for News UK, Teresa Nicolson, managing director of Brighton-based operator Red7 Holidays, Simon Powell, former chief of Comtec and now chief executive and Co-founder of Eysys, Matt Eames, sales director at Feefo, and Bruce Martin, managing director and founder of Ginger Juice.

An Eventbrite page has been set up for Bright On Travel through which anyone interested in attending can contact the organiser.
