Booking.com has expanded its branding push in Europe into Germany with the launch of its first ever offline campaign in the market.

A German-speaking advertisement will air on major German TV channels until mid-September.

At the beginning of the year Booking.com launched its first brand building campaign outside of the US and Canada in the UK.

The site said it listed its first German hotel on the platform 14 years ago and has seen healthy growth in the German market since.

It has doubled the number of local properties since the beginning of last year to 26,000.

The firm said that as well as growing its online accommodation booking business the site plans to expand and take on more staff in Germany.

It now employs nearly 800 people across 4 major cities, including two customer service centres in Berlin.
