A web-based and graphical departure control system developed by Travelport and airline IT developer Res2 is to be used by CityJet.

The Dublin-based regional carrier is to deploy the iPort departure control system across its 20-destination European network.

The solution performs functions from online and kiosk passenger check-in to airline ancillary sales, passenger boarding, aircraft load control and flight information messaging.

CityJet chief executive Christine Ourmières said: “We chose iPort because we wanted a new generation departure control system that streamlines the check-in process.

“iPort is a proven solution and the Res2 and Travelport relationship will be vital as we expand our network. iPort has already improved our performance with direct, positive impact on service and customer satisfaction.

“Installing iPort across our network plus our new agreement with Travelport to distribute CityJet content through Travelport’s travel commerce platform were important decisions supporting our growth.”

Travelport global distribution sales and support managing director Derek Sharp said: “Travelport welcomes CityJet as our newest iPort partner, and we also look forward to helping the airline grow through our travel commerce platform and travel agency partners worldwide.”
