An iPhone app with Muslim-friendly hotel features has been created by travel search engine LagiSatu.com.

The company’s ‘MuslimStars’ rating system features a review system based on an algorithm targeting Muslim travellers which is claimed not to be covered by sites such as TripAdvisor.

It compares more than 650,000 properties across 83,000 destinations and is available in several languages including English, Arabic, Indonesian and Malay.

LagiSatu has partnered with the likes of Agoda, Booking.com, Expedia and Airasiago to offer a seamless hotel booking service.

Developed by Malaysian and Austrian travel experts, LagiSatu is fronted by Faeez Fadhlillah and Juergen Gallistl.

The app analyses hotel providers and creates a shortlist of suggested choices based on the user’s desired destination, dates and amenity preferences.

Users can decide how they want their results to appear for optimum convenience. Travellers can also familiarise themselves with their destination before they arrive, calculate their savings, see the distance between their hotel and a variety of other attractions and points of interest.

Faeez said: “LagiSatu was the very first travel search engine to come out of Malaysia so it’s fitting that we’re also setting the standard in the fast paced travel app market.

“The LagiSatu app for iPhone and iPad takes all of the headaches and much of the time out of browsing a never-ending range of sites to source low prices and great deals.

“Travel can be stressful but booking a room should not be. We’ve taken this philosophy mobile with the launch of the app and focused on helping users sift through relevant hotels, streamline results and pick the perfect property in next to no time.

“Now people can search our endless options at their own convenience; waiting for the bus, sitting on the train or even as they are setting off on another trip.”
