Hotel Reservation Service has signed agreements with Hilton and InterContinental to include real-time search and booking facilities form their websites into its accommodation portal.

The deal has been hailed as a major step forward for HRS as it looks to increase its coverage and provide a better interface between it and hotel brands.

Hilton and InterContinental will now allow HRS users direct access into their own Customer Reservation Systems, using a platform created with Open Travel Alliance standards to allow a route into existing technology.

HRS will continue to use GDS connections for other hotel brands it uses among its suite of 200,000 properties worldwide.

HRS UK commercial director Grant Appleton said: “HRS has always been at the forefront of online booking technology and our latest system integration partners show we are continuing to push technological boundaries.

“Ultimately our goal is to streamline the hotel booking process as much as possible making it easy, fast and totally seamless for the end user. The more hotel groups, independent hotels and technology providers we can fuse our booking tools with, the better for the consumer and the hotelier alike.”
