Digital Alternatives signs deal

New technology will enable agents and consumers to flip through brochures and download video content after revealed details of its strategic alliance.

The online brochure portal has agreed terms for technology firm Digital Alternatives to provide an enhanced version of the site that will also allow operators to closely analyse their return on investment.

Users can deep-link into operator websites with Digital’s tracker service enabling suppliers to monitor how many people view the brochures, which pages they read and how many click through to their website. Conversion rates will also be trackable. managing director Paul Green said page-turning technology, sound and video clips will bring added-value to operators and enhance the customer experience.

“Viewing brochures online is becoming widely accepted and more commonly utilised by the industry,” he said. “We are now in a position to offer a far wider service to tour operators.”

Green claimed the number of viewed pages since the site was launched last April had now surpassed the one million mark.

Digital Alternatives sales and marketing director Les Csonge said the site provided operators with an “unlimited supply of current brochures with limitless distribution possibilities.”

The cost for suppliers to upload brochures onto the site was not disclosed but will far outstrip the £1 per page they currently pay.

Green said they will have the choice to remain with the existing system or upgrade to the more sophisticated version.
