TravelSupermarket secures record spot

A high profile marketing campaign for TravelSupermarket has helped boost its traffic share in the first quarter of 2007 to record levels.

Hitwise figures for March revealed the meta search engine has climbed into fourth position amongst travel and agency websites.

In December 2006, ahead of the first wave of a TV advertising campaign, estimated to be worth around £9 million over 12 months, TravelSupermarket was in eighth position for the top travel websites in the UK.

Since the New Year period the site has climbed quickly to take fourth place behind Expedia, Thomson and

TravelSupermarket now leads established travel providers such as MyTravel, Thomas Cook and First Choice.
