Paris-based Videoagency has launched a new website it claims is the first online hotel video portal on the web.

Trivop.com has created a mash-up using Google Earth to allow users to search for hotel properties (initially only in Paris) and then watch footage of a hotel’s facilities and surroundings.

The site will also feature the latest reviews of hotels courtesy of the new RSS feed tool developed recently by TripAdvisor.

It is hoped users will be also able to upload their own videos to a second version of the site to be unveiled in the coming months.

Trivop founder Thomas Owadenko said: “The video medium is by far the best option available for this specific market.

“In forthcoming years, hoteliers will increasingly feature their own videos on their websites. We believe that it is necessary to create a dedicated portal to aggregate all these videos and therefore help the online consumer make his choice.”

The site currently contains over a 100 videos for the French capital and a handful for London. Trivop will expand the site to include other European destinations shortly.
