WTM 2014: TravelSim claims to have hit 2014 user target two months early

Telecom specialist Top Connect claims to have hit its 2014 target of five million customers two months early.

The firm, which will be exhibiting its TravelSim pre-paid card at next week’s World Travel Market also claims to have reached its target of helping travelers save $280 million on roaming charges.

TravelSim’s growth has seen its user base grow from 3.6 million at the end of 2013 and savings of just over $200 million last year.

Mikhail Markin, head of TravelSim’s product development, said: “Clearly, Top Connect is delighted to have reached its end-2014 business targets two months ahead of schedule.

“In just 10 months, our customer base has grown 38% and collective roaming savings for users have soared by 40%.”

TravelSim users can avoid high calling and data roaming charges from their local providers when abroad.

Top Connect claims they and can save up to 85% of costs usually associated with international mobile communications.

Top Connect will announce its 2015 targets before year end.
