African low-cost carrier Fastjet ties up with Expedia’s venere.com

Passengers using Africa’s low cost airline Fastjet will be able to book hotels via its website in a tie-up with Expedia-owned accommodation distributor Venere.com.

Passengers using Africa’s low cost airline Fastjet will be able to book hotels via its website in a tie-up with Expedia-owned accommodation distributor Venere.com.

The Venere functionality will be initially launched as a ‘co-brand’ service via fastjet.com and will later be fully integrated into the booking process.

This will allow passengers to add accommodation to flight bookings and complete purchases using Fastjet’s mobile solutions.

Fastjet head of commercial Ellis Cain-Jones said: “This is another key milestone in the roll-out of Fastjet’s ancillary products and revenue generation plan.

“Accommodation is a natural add-on for both our leisure and business customers and this partnership offers an extensive choice of hotels across the continent.

“We are also particularly happy that Venere.com has accommodated our mid-term multi-channel requirements, enabling Fastjet passengers without internet access to book through our 24-hour call centre following the launch.”
