A new app from travel start-up Top10.com promises to simplify the hotel booking process so it’s as easy as booking a taxi.
The Top10.com app simplifies automatically creates personalised Top 10 lists of hotels for any destination in the world.
Users can search for the best boutique, budget, luxury or business hotels in any city, and then book with a few taps of the screen.
Top10.com said the app checks live prices from every major booking service to find the cheapest deal.
It claims to cover 500,000 properties and the new app integrates with Facebook, Foursquare and Google Maps to offer additional information.
It also provides a ‘Trending’ category to uncover hotels that are popular on social networks.
Top10.com co-founder Harry Jones said: “Travel apps on smartphones tend to be really complicated.
“Most existing hotel apps have tried to crunch a ‘desktop’ experience onto a small screen, leading to fiddly controls, endless choices and a stressful experience for users.
“We think mobile travellers need a solution that’s smarter, simpler and much more enjoyable – the Top10.com app is that solution.”
Jones added: “Over 50% of Top10.com’s website bookings are now on mobile devices, and we’ve learned a lot from this data.
“Building this app meant rethinking the hotel search experience – people don’t want to trawl through hundreds of hotels, particularly when time is tight.
“We’re making choosing easier by providing 10 amazing hotels around you, using millions of dynamic recommendations – and it works anywhere in the world.”
The Top10.com app is free and available for iPhone users in the UK. It will be available in other countries and on more platforms later this year.
