Travolution and travel technology specialist Open Destinations have teamed up to run a sector-specific event during the first London Technology Week next month.

Filip Filipov, head of B2B at Skyscanner, has been lined up as a speaker at the event which will take place on June 18 from 6pm.

The session entitled ‘Travel Technology: What Does the Future Hold?’ will look at future trends and what role technology will play.

Filipov will also discuss recent findings from Skyscanner’s Future of Travel 2024 report and recent developments in the area of travel.

London Tech Week will take place from June 16-20. It is being organised by London and Partners, the Mayor’s official promotional agency for the capital.

London and Partners recently announced the setting up of a travel technology hub in its offices next to City Hall, the home of the Greater London Authority.

It believes London can become the world leader in travel technology due to its burgeoning technology sector and given its status as the world’s most visited city.

Lee Hayhurst, Travolution editor, said: “We’re very pleased to be working with Open Destinations on this event.

“Given the London Mayor’s ambitions for travel technology, it would seem odd for the sector not to be represented during this first London Tech Week.

“The chance to showcase a true British success story in Skyscanner is also fantastic and I look forward to a fascinating session on what the future holds for the travel industry.”
