Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority has unveiled a full mobile strategy backed by new apps for all three main operating systems.

The native apps complement a new responsive site VisitAbuDhabi.ae developed by the emirate designed to configure to all screen sizes.

Mouza Al Shamsi, acting executive director of marketing and communications at TCA Abu Dhabi, said:

“We had pent up demand for mobile solutions with VisitAbuDhabi receiving 1.3 million visits via mobile devices, including tablets, last year alone and our new mobility suite addresses this.

“Mobile is now a digital essential in the travel and tourism world.”

The new apps are available in nine languages and are designed to be used as a digital visual trip planner offering information about what there is to do and see in the destination.

Maps and location-based functionality have been included to make the apps easy to use and a resource for all frequently asked questions about visiting Abu Dhabi.

and heritage, hotels and quickly answer most frequently-asked questions.

VisitAbuDhabi.ae is said to average 10,000 clicks a day and has over three million visits a year.
