Amadeus has appointed a new European cruise line sales manager to work alongside agents and cruise line representatives.

Garry Brown, formerly commercial cruise manager for Opodo Cruise, will be responsible for supporting the company’s cruise line partners, increasing the profile of new booking tool Cruise Shop and building stronger relationships with key agents.

Prior to his role at Opodo, Brown worked for Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines, Carnival UK, Star Clipper and Sainsbury’s.

“I’m delighted to be taking on a position like this at such a pivotal stage in the company’s expansion into cruise,” Brown said.

“I am confident that my experience and industry contacts will support Amadeus’s continued growth within this flourishing sector, which has a lot to offer travel sellers and providers.”

Eric Gignoux, head of land and sea travel distribution at Amadeus, said: “Garry’s knowledge of existing distribution practices, trends and future models combined with a deep understanding of the cruise industry will be a great addition to Amadeus and its customers.

“Our appointment of Garry coincides nicely with our ambitions to develop the cruise distribution business within UK and Europe. We look forward to Garry’s contribution to our continued growth.”
