Air China has signed a contract with Travelport to use its merchandising technology.

The Chinese carrier, which begins operating a London Gatwick-Beijing service from tomorrow (Friday, April 25), will use the technology company’s Content and Branding programme, which enables airlines to control how flights and ancillaries are displayed on travel agents’ screens.

The airline will roll out the product globally over the coming months.

Air China is the 27th carrier to buy the merchandising tool from Travelport.

The Content and Branding programme is part of Travelport’s Merchandising Platform.

Air China’s deputy general manager of network and revenue management, Na Na, said: “The solution offers the ability to differentiate our products and services against other airlines in the GDS, whilst maintaining brand consistency with Air China’s other sales channels, providing a holistic brand experience for both travel agents and travellers.”
