Classic Collection Holidays has agreed to buy a reservations platform from travel technology firm Intuitive.

The independent tour operator expects the iVector system to go live in September this year, ready to take bookings for winter 2015.

The company said it made the decision to switch reservation systems following a review of its current and predicted business processes.

It concluded that it needed a more collaborative relationship with its technology supplier and a more dynamic platform with features that would improve business efficiency and performance.

Intuitive said the switch from Classic’s legacy platform would be an extensive project, involving a number of custom developments in the coming months.

Paul Nixon, Intuitive’s managing director, said: “Collaborating with Classic Collection Holidays is a great opportunity for us to further develop the tour operator-focused functionality that we have built into iVector.”

Nick Munday, managing director of Classic Collection Holidays, said: “iVector is a very comprehensive platform, but most importantly Intuitive is a forward thinking company with a strong team who we trust to deliver this crucial project under the guidance of its managing director, Paul Nixon.”

Nixon said: “Classic Collection Holidays is a successful tour operator with an experienced and professional project team who has recognised the importance of implementing a dynamic and innovative platform. The company will benefit from the power and flexibility of iVector.”
