MSC Cruises has started accepting payments via the Paypal online system.
The Italian line has already taken its first deposit for a cruise using the system.
The move comes as the company puts its new programmes – covering summer 2015 and winter 2015-16 – on sale earlier than in previous years in a bid to attract early bookers.
The line claims that using the Paypal system will make it easier for consumers to book cruises as they can complete the booking process in a few clicks.
UK, Ireland and Australia executive director Giles Hawke said: “MSC Cruises are constantly looking at ways to make life easier for our customers and we recognise that people’s buying habits are changing.
“A number of customers have come to trust PayPal as a secure way of transacting online and we are certain that this new way of paying will appeal to those regular internet shoppers.”
