Icelolly relocates to Leeds for growth and to tap into local talent pool

Holiday deals publisher Icelolly.com is looking to recruit new talent having moved its headquarters to new premises in Leeds.

The relocation from nearby Bradford comes after the business was subject to a £17 million management buyout six months ago backed by Palatine Private Equity.

The new modern offices are located close to Leeds train station and in a city which has a vibrant student and digital community from which Icelolly hopes to draw in new talent.

Andy Lees, partner at Palatine and non-executive director at Icelolly.com, said: “As a central northern hub, Leeds is the perfect location to support the management team through its next stage of growth.

“With the business looking to accelerate its recruitment drive over the next few months, we are very excited about what this city has to offer.”

Chief executive Dave Clayton said the move had become necessary as more space was required as the business experienced substantial growth.

In 2013, 26 million visitors used Icelolly.com to compare 40 million holiday deals and in 2014 the site expects over 30 million visitors to compare over 100 million deals.

Towards the end of last year Icelolly saw its closest competitor Teletext Holidays switch its model dramatically when it opted to use just one supplier.

Clayton said: “These are very exciting times for everyone associated with Icelolly.com and the new offices will provide the space and facilities to help us achieve our ambitious plans.

“The vibrant location, excellent transport links and university made Leeds the perfect head office location for Icelolly, with a great pool of talent.”
