Bedbank boss leaves for agency start-up
Janette Bell, general manager of one of the UK’s top accommodation-only suppliers to the trade, is leaving to run a new online travel agency.
The Bedbank.net boss will become managing director of TravelTravel.co.uk in April but will retain a consultancy role at the United Co-Op Travel Group-owned company.
The new agency is expected to focus on the luxury market and has already launched a number of websites including Medescapes.co.uk, Wedding-Honeymoon.co.uk and Travel-Bookers.co.uk, as well as the TravelTravel.co.uk site.
TravelTravel has been backed by Future Travel and will run off Vertical Group-hosted systems, including its Dynamite dynamic packaging system.
Bedbank is expected to be one of the accommodation providers into TravelTravel.
Bell said: “I felt that Bedbank is now in a good position and its technology systems are first rate. This meant that I was able to develop something for myself.”
Chris North has been appointed acting general manager at Bedbank.
