Virtual reality specialist Visualise and web services provider Umi Digital are targeting the travel and hospitality industries to cater for rising demand for 360 degree video and images.

The two firms have struck an exclusive partnership that will allow suppliers and operators to bring their offline experiences online.

The Umi 360 service will offer rich content enhancements like 360 degree virtual tours or a Giga-pixel ‘deep zoom’ panorama.

Henry Stuart, Visualise co-founder, said: “Visualise is delighted to announce a partnership with Umi Digital to produce 360 and immersive content for their customers.

“Visualise have produced content for the Royal Wedding, London 2012, the Ashes, Wimbledon, Harrods and many more of the world’s top brands and events and are now exclusively partnering with Umi in the travel and hospitality sector.

Marc Crouch, chief operating officer at Umi Digital, added: “There are quite a few 360 software providers out there but what impressed us about Visualise was the sheer quality of the software combined with its customisation potential.

“For hotels and travel companies it is a really exciting way of presenting their product in a very direct and personal way.

“This is very important in our sector as it allows hotels to really differentiate themselves based on the quality of their product rather than how high up the OTA search results they feature.

“The integration with Google Street View is also very powerful in terms of capturing potential guests while they are exploring the surrounding location.”

Umi 360 packages are already available from £1,500.
