Spanish Social travel platform minube has announced has raised €1 million as part of efforts to enter new markets and increase on-site bookings.

Spanish Social travel platform minube has announced it has raised €1 million as part of efforts to enter new markets and increase on-site bookings.


The web/mobile platform which allows travellers to plan their trips from inspiration to final booking, received 45 million visits this year.


It has a community of one million registered users and claims 2 million app downloads.


The investment comes from Kibo Ventures, Bonsai and existing investor Sputnik Ventures.


Minube has sites in English, Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese and German and plans to expand in Latin America, Scandinavia and eastern Europe in 2014. Its mobile applications have been downloaded in more than 100 countries.


Founder and chief executive Raúl Jiménez said: “Modern travellers have an enormous amount of online resources to choose from when planning their trips.
