Express Newspapers is set to be the latest UK media giant to re-launch its websites, with the travel channels across the portfolio expected to receive special attention.

The company is understood to be unveiling new sites for Express.co.uk and DailyStar.co.uk imminently, which will also act as portals for the Sunday editions of their respective papers.

AdPrecision, which already handles search duties for the travel section on the Telegraph’s website, has been hired to run similar functionality on the massively overhauled travel channels for the new Express sites.

This will include contextual advertising against relevant travel editorial as well as search tools for existing online and offline advertisers across the brands.

The news follows a similar focus on travel by the Guardian, which re-launched its travel section in December.

A brand new Times Online, the online portal for The Times and The Sunday Times, was unveiled on the 5 February.

Meanwhile the Daily Mail, Mail on Sunday and Teletext Holidays have created a standalone site, TravelMail.co.uk, to become as a portal for all travel editorial and advertising across the brands.

TravelMail is expected to launch in March. The Telegraph’s travel channel was overhauled in summer 2006.
